No problem! It is good to have others evaluate their view points.

If after trying my best to convince her of the danger she still insists on touching the flame I would let her. I'd warn her to slowly because more than likely she will feel the heat and pain before even burning herself too bad. Let her learn. I don't like when parents punish their kids for doing something that might hurt, but not seriously hurt, the child.

Now if we are talking about life threatening situations like drinking bleach then I would have to force her not to, but at the same time I'd do the same for an adult friend.
