I haven't seen the video due to some technical difficulties, so I can only respond to what others here have said.

On the one hand I am glad that research is being done into what makes pedophiles pedophiles, on the other hand I am seriously concerned about what will be done with this information. We have many enemies who lack a conscience and/or intelligence - and although they are already doing a great deal of harm, this could help them do much worse - up to and including genocide.

I believe that pedophilia is natural variation in humanity and serves many good purposes. I do not believe that it is any kind of defect at all.

One question, though: the assertion was apparently made that in pedophiles sexual attraction is cross-wired with parental love. There are several ways for wires to be crossed - the terminal points can be switched around, or they can all be tied together allowing signals to go all ways. The presumption here is that this is a "defect" that produces sexual attraction to children that one should have only "parental" concern for - but wouldn't such a connection just as easily introduce an element of parental love into sexual relationships? Would the combination of nurturing and sexual behavior be a bug or a feature?
