I agree with qtns2di4. If we are going to have welfare, it shouldn't be discriminatory.

The Drug War is insane and counterproductive. The welfare system as it stands devotes far too many resources to the bureaucracy and not enough to just helping people. I'd rather have the taxes spent on welfare returned to the people who can most wisely spend it - Americans have always been generous in giving to private charities, when they had the money to do so - but if we are going to have a welfare system it would be wiser and fairer to dispense with the bureaucracy and simply provide the basics that people need.
