No photograph of a person may be used as a sigpic, unless the photo is of the poster him- or herself and this is highly discouraged as it is dangerous to anonymity. All my sigpics were resized to their final dimensions in photo-software as well as being reduced in pixels for the web. Check out the average size of most sigpics here and you'll find that a relatively small size loads easily. ( Some of our posters don't have huge bandwidth. )
Here we use the LessThan and GreaterThan brackets for HTML within the post. ( No HTML in the subject lines though. )

Its still useful, however, to remember to put quotes around quotations, instead of relying entirely on the font; as some don't see the other font styles.
