Everybody goes through changes in moods and outlooks, and how they feel about themselves - and that is even without counting changes of opinion arrived at through new knowledge or experience. What you are experiencing might be more extreme because GL is more out of the line with societal expectations, but it is still only a manifestation of something normal.
