"AhNasty," a.k.a., Honesty, is a very disturbed individual who, whether he is a true GLer or not, should be avoided at every possible cost. He sent a truly nasty attack at my inbox today (flattering me with his charming attention) after previously sending me fawning e-mails over the past two days where he claims I was his "hero," much as he did here to redcocoa. I am going to make a point to collect every depraved missive he sends me, along with another other I may receive from him under a different screen name in the future, as evidence in a case I really hope we can build against him in the future. He needs some serious professional help, and I hope that one day he gets it, as I truly feel sorry for him. In the meantime, we need to be wary of him, as knowing his pattern, he will likely attempt to register under another nick before too long. Please, everyone, be mindful of his characteristic M.O., and help future legitimate newbies be aware of this.
On the other hand, please do not let this guy cause all of us to sink into extreme paranoia as I have seen occur because of him in the past, and do not automatically assume every newbie is him, even if they do display somewhat quirky behavior at first. We always need to exercise caution in who we deal with and form relationships on and off the board with here, but at the same time, we need to keep our perspective intact and not allow the fear of someone like Honesty to tear this community apart with paranoia and extreme mistrust. He is not that clever of a chimera, and a bit of keeping your eyes wide open and exercising simple common sense, along with astute observational abilities, should be more than sufficient to keep us safe. Rest assured that the mods will always strive to spot trouble whenever it arises and to keep everyone here safe.
If anyone in the future suspects a newbie, or even someone else who has been here for a bit of time, to be Honesty in another guise, please do not call him (or "her") out about it on the board and create a fiasco, but contact the mods off the board immediately with your concerns.
