Maybe this helps some people understand why I don't write long messages and why my messages don't sound as intelligent as those of some others. Especially the monolingual people have difficulty understanding this.

If I have a long post in mind, I most often give up. Too much checking. And this is not the whole truth, of course. When I post here, I usually think in English. When I feel that I cannot find words, I try to think the difficult passage in my own language and then translate that in my mind, and if that does not succeed, I use the Internet and my dictionaries.

Often translating is not possible. Then I should be able to think my words anew in English - but alas, this is exactly what I am not able to do, if I am trying to write something even slightly literary. I am not creative in English.
