The kind of day you describe here is an EXACT parallel to my "perfect day" dream!! I'm so glad that you're out there doing this and that S and Q have somebody cool like you.

Those people that were looking at you funny were experiencing "cognitive dissonance". They've been told there's something fishy if men seem to interested in little girls, but clearly they saw in your case that there was nothing but love and good things going on. The more of this sort of thing they see, the more they'll realize it's a perfectly natural and healthy sort of relationship and social interaction. And then they'll realize the creepy people they hear about on the news are, for the most part, fictions like the boogieman.

It's always good to have attractive same-age females around in any public situation where you're with LGs - lol. Why? If anyone seems to be getting too suspicious, you can just start flirting with the women, and you'll appear "normal". Haha! And yes, the halo effect helps.

As far as feeling like a LG is the most important thing and other stuff not being as exciting or interesting or whatever - I've been there too. I think anyone who has been in love, regardless of sexual orientation, has experienced this. The long term important thing though is to keep developing yourself in terms of your own skills, knowledge, accomplishments, and such - being a well-rounded person makes a person not only feel more self-fulfilled, but an even better companion to his friends and special friends.

And as far as the in the moment nature of kids - yes, this is a huge part of why kids are so wonderful. I try to be this way myself - it can be tough, but kids act as a sort of catalyst and I can enter that state myself. I have been working on it though and sometimes I can get into that kind of mode regardless of external circumstances, and it's pretty awesome!
