What I meant is that Greece is simply the country that first arrived at a debt induced crisis that will break it. So far, only the PIIGS are there; but I predict maybe all of the West will be there in 10y or so. Under epidemic debt crisis conditions, the government safety network will stop working, in one way or another: either by refusing new people, reducing benefits, or inflating the currency.

And yes, I also noticed that the pic looked more like a European Rroma kid, of whom you cannot really deduce abandonment or homelessness just because they're begging. It might also be a true street kid from South Asia or LatAm, but that would still be misleading because that's different to what is happening (or can happen in the short term) in Greece or generally in Europe.
