I see where you're coming from, and am not philosophically opposed, but I simply think you are reading history wrong.

You are thinking that evolution is a slow and steady process, whereas I believe that the punctuated equilibrium model is more common.

And I believe that the younger generation is already moving more swiftly on this issue than we are - and in fact, we might already have reached the promised land were it not for AIDS. That was what stopped the sexual revolution thirty years ago.
