I can think of things that can be done to REALLY piss LJ off. Lol!

Could be amusing...

I mean, what part of 'law-abiding' don't they understand? If you were someone who had done terrible things to children, I might understand, but...

What I'd like to know, is that if LJ is still creaking on in the internet world in 40 years time, the task they'll then have in 'justifying' displaying that level of discrimination in what will then be part of their sorry, sordid past.

Doesn't help now though, I know.

I've come across discrimination in the past myself, several times, some with more serious results than others. AK, I wouldn't sweat it too much. Easier said than done, I know, but it isn't worth letting it get to you, otherwise they've won.

The problem is, there is no capacity for logical, rational debate in any of this.

There are a significant number of nons out there who would actually welcome that logical, rational debate, as it will keep their children far safer, for a start - but the people out there who make a lot of money out of the current hysteria don't want that to happen (and, sadly, that includes the keeping children safe part) because they don't want to lose the ability to trouser any of those lovely dollars.

And, the anti's follow them as gods, and the public also follow them, led on by the sensationalist media who, surprisingly, also want some of those lovely dollars that the witch-hunt generates.

Those people feel threatened by any rationality, and fear it. They will not allow it to occur, either.

Which is all a shame, because most of the people out there are perfectly capable of sorting through the facts, and understanding the logical and rational side of things, but right now they just aren't allowed to - they are being fooled and duped at every turn, by those whose motives are dubious, to say the least.

In short, the public are the victims of these vultures, who are not the friends of anyone but their bank balance or ego.

And it all also acts as a cancer in society, leading to distrust, suspicion and a breakdown in humanity. That is a hurt to all, and threatens what people actually are. That is the real evil.

For now, though, ignore the ignorant bigots. I know I do. Discrimination and hatred are the ultimate expression of fear, weakness and helplessness. We should pity them.
