Heh I was 8 or 9 when we got AOL dial up in the late 90's. I am a little bit older than you but in the same generation.

Your story teaches a lesson. The power of blocking. It is HARD to take advantage of someone online. It is so easy to block people. My little cousin (11 at the time) was propositioned by someone online in an aggressive vulgar way ("I want to make you pregnant") along with other vulgarities. It was probably a troll but all she did was click "block" and it was over. If parents teach kids to be careful with the info the give out online then it isn't all that dangerous.
