Reading the article on torture devices led me to this article: 10 Fascinating Interracial Marriages in History ⚠️ ↗, which is mostly OT but still interesting. All the couples have amazing stories, but the one that really caught my attention was the couple in the number one spot, Richard Loving and Mildred Jeter. Ironically, I just read an article about them yesterday. But here's the on-topic bit:

"Richard and Mildred were from Virginia and met when he was 17 years old and she was 11. As they grew older, their friendship blossomed into romance."
