There are still good people out there

I know this isn't the most informative post in history, but I feel as if I should post it anyway because it brought me a little peace.

I was on omegle, doing the spy feature where someone posts a question and watches 2 strangers discuss it. The question was "what is your biggest secret that nobody knows?". To which I answer simply I am a pedophile.

I do know what I was expecting, the standard "be glad I can't get to you or I'd do X to you then kill you". Even when that is the case it is always a relief to be able to come out and say just say it. The response I got however was a very calm, and very direct "are you really a pedophile?".

The conversation we had was very upfront and friendly (also over 2hours). During this time I found out that she had started the conversation simply wanting to know what makes pedophiles tick because she was raped (actually raped, not the law fudging the term) at the age of 8 and wanted to understand why. I made her aware that a pedophile is to a child rapist, what a straight man is to a regular rapist. At this point she began asking the real questions, questions like "If you do not wish to harm children, why are you so reviled?", and "why do you love little girls?".

Over time our discussion had turned away from simple curiosities, to "how could people treat you that way!?", and "Why doesn't anyone state the truth about you?". To these questions I showed her the example of Jack mcclellan as to what becomes of even the CL's who follow the letter of the law.

There was much more discussion on almost all aspects of being a pedophile or hebephile, as a result she now sees at least a glimmer of the real truth behind the pedophile community, and has the link to this site (she was shocked that places like this exist).

The moral of my story is that there are still those out there who even though they have a very clear reason to blindly hate us for what we are, still are willing to discuss, understand, and even empathize with us.

I hope this post is able to bring at least some hope to anyone here that needs it, that there are still good people in this world.
