This idea was brand new to me a few years ago, when I was watching a movie and one of the adult characters came to her Mother, and told her that she had something to tell her about her Father. Her Mother, not knowing what was going on said "Well tell me what's going on, is that bad? What did he do murder somebody?" and the girl said "No much worse than that, Dad molested me!" It was apalling to me to think that sexual molesting someone was "much worse" than murdering someone! I was watching this movie with my Mother, and I asked her why it was much worse to murder somebody than to molest them, because at least you were allowed to live after the molestation, and then she said "Why don't you ask a molested child? Or an adult who was molested as a child? The emotional toll of someone living with that would much worse than having been murdered!" In some people's view, death is much more welcomed than being "touched down there". Being a guy, it's hard to imagine that the violation of a woman is so great after being raped, that death would be preferable, maybe some of our female posters would like to answer this?
