Baltimore school forces kids to wear . . . purple

. . . in support of the Baltimore Ravens football team. The consequences for not wearing the proper color on the day the school is to have a rally: you get to sit in the library and miss out on all the fun.

Question: if the child doesn't own a purple shirt and the parents aren't willing to or cannot buy one, is the school going to fork over the money to buy one for him or her? What a stupid-ass rule. I hated sports as a child (still do, actually), but I would've been upset to miss a rally. Hooray for forced conformity!
