It can really hurt to realize that a lot of society will look at you negatively when you haven't ever even done anything. You just have to remember that you ARE a good person and there is nothing wrong with you being attracted to children. Like you said, you aren't a rapist or child molester, you're a good person, so don't let anti's bring you down.

Coming on the GC board is a really big step to getting away from feelings of isolation. I'm relatively new here also and it is really great to be around like-minded people who understand what you're going through.

It's hard to know what you can do to change others perspectives because we're so constrained by fear. You don't want to do anything rash like outing yourself in RL. I know someone who said you can always post informative fliers around your area, or try to reach different areas on the internet. It's really up to you as to how far you want to go to changings peoples understanding.

Before you do that you might want to first figure out your own feelings on it and try to become more rooted on how you feel about it. Even though you've just been recently 'diagnosed' I'm sure you've had some realization of your feelings before this.

Anyway, I hope you realize you are a good person and that you can't let other peoples knee-jerk opinion of your sexual orientation change your view of yourself.
