Protactinium, Uranium, and Lanthanum: Where did all these element names come from?

Protactinium's name means "Parent of actinium" since actinium is a product of protactinium decay.

Uranium was named after the planet discovered 4 years before its discovery, Uranus.

Lanthanum comes from the Greek λανθανω [lanthanō] = to lie hidden.

This girl would be a radiantly silver-white energetic girl who's core would be made up of the dense yet very soft and tactile metal lanthanum. The lanthanum would be kept in its stable form (138La) by the cosmically slow decay of the surrounding protactinium.
Finally the unstable outer shell of our iridescent beauty the precious, dangerous, and mysterious uranium-238. Reacting naturally to everything she contacts she will leave her mark on the world and the world on her. And so long as there remain people who would observe her closely, she will forever remain the young girl she was originally intended to be.

Sorry, I saw potential in the undescribed and had to take it.

Lambda
