Re: As for me...

Those who prefer foreign cinema in small doses might not like to see the entire output of France or Italy.

I'm not a huge film buff by most people's standards. I might watch three or four films a month. Even my TV generally stays off until at least 7 in the evening, and is only on for three or four hours. I only just turned it on tonight about an hour ago. Often it is merely background noise for me anyway. I could comfortably purchase one foreign or indie film a month and still get enough good stuff for the rest of my life, but instead I buy movies once in a great while these days.

The last three films I went to the theater to see, two were for K and one was the 18-year-old I took on a date. The only movie I went to see for myself in the last six months was Super 8. K can do without me taking her to movies. As it is, she's growing up and we don't spend that much time together anymore. K is the last girl I plan on having any sort of friendship with. I am too worn down and often in pain, and I cannot deal with rambunctious kids much these days.

Sooo . . . long story short, I don't think it would be much of a problem for me to get enough good foreign and indie films to suit me. After all, I do like to watch my movies several times. I would rather watch one decent movie twenty times than watch twenty crap movies only once.
