Thanks. I wasn't terribly close to this cousin because he was a bit distant from me both geographically and familially (he was my grandma's sister's grandson), but he was a super nice guy and I remember him fondly. He was a quiet and friendly guy. The last time he was here he had a girl with him, but she was a local girl he met here. At first I thought it might've been her who shot him, which completely shocked me because she was not the type that would do such a thing, I thought. A very beautiful and sweet young lady.

See, he had been down here in Nashville for the last two or three years, attending a trade school there, and his mom would come down to visit him about every three months or so. She would stay with us for a day or two, then go up and stay with DJ for a week or so, then go back to Michigan. But anyway, this was not the girl he was dating here; it was some girl he met up in Michigan, I guess, since he was finished with the trade school and was living back at home in Eau Claire.

Weird.
