Alright, I know the school system sucks balls, but school gives kids the opportunity to think outside of what their parents think.

I would question that. I don't know of any parent who signs up their kids for a school with whose values they differ.

Hell no, but if you live in a home where your parents are a bunch of racists,

...they will move to a place where your school will have a white majority just by population dynamics.

or beat the shit out of you every day,

School is not going to help with that.

or can help keep them from being isolated.

No more than going out to the park, the movies, the playgrounds and the malls. I realize, of course, that those all are full of dangerous pedifiles so most parents will never allow their children to be there without a leash.

For that matter, extracurriculars of any type would do a better job than schools as they put together children with similar interests or abilities.

They worked in factories. Or they did the job that their daddy did, that his daddy did, that his... etc

The argument is at least anachronistic for today's developed world. No child would be working in factories if schools disappeared today; especially not for a real material need to do so.

(Not that the War on Lemonade gives much credence to this line of argument either, but at least you are sincere enough to speak about dangerous jobs)
