It is no longer twilight, Markaba. That was 10 years ago. It is now dark out although we can still see the afterglow of sunset.

Today, we have arrests without prob. cause, searches and seizures without warrant, indefinite jail/prison/mental institution sentences, ID cards, and wars in places I've never heard of before. Half of America is owned but other countries. It used to be that criminals in jails were bad guys and bankers were honored members of the society. Today, lots of good people are in jail while some bankers are the criminals. I was talking to my brother on the phone and I joked, "Man, she was a bombshell!" meaning that the girl I had been looking at was pretty. I then joked, "Well, you know that our phone conversation is flagged by an NSA computer and, in a few moments, some old fart is going to review our entire conversation."

Indeed, but I thought the point was valid. The state we're in did not hit us all at once; it crept up on us. Moreover, there is not one person or group of people at the feet of which we can lay all the blame: conservatives, liberals, religious types, feminists, police, judges, social workers, scholars, parents, the average joe on the street . . . all are responsible in their way and have contributed to pulling the sun steadily downward.
