It is always a minority!

It is a minority in Quebec (the ever so close referendum outcome is not the best example of the history of public sentiment). It is a minority in Euskadi. It is a minority in Flanders. It is a minority in Tamil Eelam. It is or was a minority in Aceh. It is a minority in Kurdistan. It is a minority in Tibet. It was a minority in Texas and in the Confederate States. Anywhere I can think of it is or was a minority, even in the African, Latin American and Asian colonies (Not to mention the USA...). It is always minorities who gain independence and majorities who uphold the newly gained independence. That's how history works...
