One possibility is that as you accept this aspect of yourself, you are more willing to accept attraction for those who aren't even close to the cusp of pubescence.

Just as there are those wrestling with their "horrible" attraction to 17 year old women who might find that they like them before they're biological adults as soon as they no longer internalize who the statutes declare you can be attracted to.
