People always like to assume they know what someone else is thinking if that person is doing something that they don't want them to enjoy or feel good about. Saying that, "They are only doing it to please you, not because they enjoy the relationship as much as you" when they do not know the girl in question, have an inherent bias against the type of relationship you are having, and are making an assessment based upon stereotypes is basically engaging in wishful thinking on their parts. For what it's worth, they say very similar things to me whenever I am dating a younger woman in the age range of 18-20.

Then again, you do need to expect such reactions from people who have such a strong bias against this type of relationship. If you got Q to speak for herself on behalf of the relationship, they would still rationalize the whole thing and tell her that she is "obviously" suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.
