So, Tadanobu Asano (who both directed and stars in this 2008 film) is 246, an alien from the planet Rock n' Roll (no, really) named who arrives on Earth but loses his polychromatic drum set, from which he draws all of his power and alien coolness. Soon he encounters a young guitar prodigy, the rockin' and adorable Shidomi (played by Ayane Omori ⚠️ ↗), who can literally clobber the shit out of you with her guitar abilities. The two of them--along with Shidomi's Igor-like old roadie, who lugs her amp around--go off looking for the drum set to help 246 get home.
