Um...

Alcohol eases away the pain, I will accept that, and defend that. I have done it. I would do it again if I felt that way. But unless you are talking about being permanently drunk for the rest of your life, it solves nothing. The easing is good, of course, but it's not a solution anymore than a painkiller solves a fracture, burn or tumor.
