Pedophilia + mental illness

Sorry to be posting about this. I was reading the "hearing voices thread", and this is something I'm curious about.

Is there a link, if any, between pedophilia and mental illness?

Lots of us were posting about mental issues we suffer from, or had in the past. I too am one of the ones who suffers from ongoing mental issues.

I've seen enough evidence for me to believe that pedophilia affects a very high percentage of the world's population... much more of the population than those who are mentally ill.

Then again, society and the world at large are in such chaos today, that mental illness is something that knows no boundaries and affects all people, in some shape or form. So it's obvious that there would indeed be mentally ill CLs on this forum. Also, mental illness does not affect all of us, since I've talked to GLs who are not mentally ill. Lindsay Ashford is one of the GLs who seems NOT to suffer from mental illness, and is a normal, productive member of society. I'd even call him an "Alpha Male". I've also met mentally ill people who are NOT pedophiles.

Then there are questions about the causes of mental illness, and/or WHY someone begins to suffer from a mental illness? With the experience I have with such issues, it's clear to me mental illness is not something that has to be biologically inherited. It can be the results of traumatic events in ones life.

Troubled times in history are resulting in more mentally ill people. Anti types might like to disagree with this, I dunno. If that's the case, there are many questions to raise to them. If these aren't troubled times any more than other periods in history, why are the youth growing up so badly, why are violent and criminal acts happening so much, and what's with the rise of cases of mental illness? And thus, if these are not troubled times we're living in, why are so many people suddenly mentally ill? If it's a biological disorder only, what's happening in human genetics to bring rise to this onslaught?

Obviously, we here are Child Lovers, and we are persecuted - being given no where to turn. Certainly this can be a cause for mental illness. Many of us have also noted that we've felt the traumatic effects of an anti-sex society since we were children, which hindered our right to a healthy environment to grow up in.

So, it does make sense to me that many Child Lovers would be mentally ill. And with any important issue regarding human relations and interactions, there are those whom the issue will mean more to than others. So the "pedo" issue means more to some CLs than it does with others. Those whom are more affected by it will likely suffer from mental illness the most. They've been plagued by the trauma of persecution and the paranoia and despairation that comes with it. That's why so many mentally ill child lovers are gathered on these forums.

I have no doubt that if I had the chance to grow up in a more sane, open, and caring world, and had the chance to live that same right as a teen, then as an adult, I would be a much different person today. I know I'd be much more healthy and productive.
