The truth begins to sneak out

From the International Encyclopedia of Sexuality:

"These pressures also have made it difficult to estimate the number of child sex workers in Thailand, as they are going underground (Boonchalaksi and Guest 1994). The estimates have ranged from 30,000 to 40,000 proposed by the Thai Red Cross and Sittitrai and Brown (1991), to 800,000 suggested by the Center for the Protection of Children's Rights."

So, two groups, one a charity and the other a team of researchers, estimate that there are 30-40,000 child sex workers in Thailand.
These figures roughly approximate government estimates of 20-25,000.

Yet a Non-Governmental Organization claims that there are 800,000, or 20 times as many.
Hmmmmmmmm. Could it be their tax-exempt is their biggest concern, a status which would be reinforced by sustaining a high level of hysteria on the subject of child sex?
