Aren't all cop shows ⚠️ ↗sci-fi at this point? ⚠️ ↗
Having taken a Criminal Investigations class in college and being somewhat versed in science in general, I can verify that the science used on most of these shows is bunk, or the effects are greatly exaggerated. Most major police investigations take months if not years to solve, if they are ever solved at all, and the forensics are nowhere near as precise as these shows make them out to be. Of course, we all know that cop shows are extremely biased in a number of ways, but I'm astounded by how much basic shit ⚠️ ↗ they routinely ⚠️ ↗ get wrong ⚠️ ↗. There's even a name for how it can influence actual legal cases: the CSI effect ⚠️ ↗.
