What's your issue?

I'm glad you decided to stay. You seemed like a cool person, and I'd like to get to know you better. I'm new here, after all. And it was a bummer to see you go.

But I'm not sure why you wanted to leave so badly in the first place. What's the deal? You realize you could just choose not to post, instead of making such pressure to have your nicks deleted? I don't mean to be nosy, it's just that I take it there must have been a big issue or problem that made you not want to post.

My guess would be that you wanted to leave because it can be hurtful and exhausting hearing about all these tragic and major issues with the world today. It can be a lot to take in. A lot of what is talked about on these forums is very serious and deep. Thinking about it too much can be very depressing.

Sometimes I feel this way.

When you say you wanted your chat access deleted because you weren't getting much out of it, it sounds to me like you use this forum and its functions as some kind of psychological support. But that doesn't have to be its only use. You don't have to treat this forum like some kind of "AA" meeting. I don't mean to be rude or presumptious saying these things to you, I'd just like you to see that there are other reasons to stay. But I totally understand where you're coming from if my assumptions about your reasons for wanting to leave are correct. It's one thing NOT to get benefit, but it's a whole other deal if it's actually hurting you and preventing you from making progress in your life. As I said, it can be hard to be here and read about all these tragic issues which effect YOUR life every single day. Sometimes... ignorance can be bliss.

Please realize: There's no way the admins can keep you out of the forum permanently. Even if you got them to permanently delete all your nicks, you can still get back in if you wanted to badly enough. Is all you'd have to do is email them to give you a new nick/password. If you got them to give you an IP ban, you could always change your IP address. There's no way of preventing yourself in the future from gaining access to the forum if you change your mind.

So don't stress it.
