He described frequently turning to marijuana in an attempt to stave off the metamorphosis from "Upstanding Citizen" to "Child Molester" the nation's media outlets had convinced him was only a matter of time -- a vicious cycle which culminated in a marijuana-induced psychosis and the first of many botched clinical consultations.

I absolutely relate to this and wound up going down the exact same path. Far from helping me, marijuana actually wound up substantially adding to my problems, because it made me far more anxious and paranoid, to the point where I wound up just sitting in my room all day . . . smoking more pot and becoming even more anxious. Yep, vicious cycle is definitely the right descriptor for that situation. I did untold damage to my body and mind. Later I discovered painkillers, which actually helped a lot (I have physical as well as mental and emotional pain due to the fact that my body is unbalanced, causing stress to my back and left knee, and I also have some internal issues that have never been taken care of), but I finally had to give those up too, mostly because I couldn't afford them. Anyway, thanks for the update. Some year I'd like to make it to one of those things, if I can overcome my anxiety and the lack of funds.
