DC is technically in the South anyway, and cities have to be considered inside the larger context of states and regions.
Come on! You know that (like South Florida) it's also full of people from all over the country due to its federal institutions.
In any case, I mentioned it because, as Dissident reminds, it has stringent gun controls. Same reason I mentioned Chicago. The record of guns between the US vs rest of the West generally lends credence to a "more guns more crime" argument (still not always: Switzerland has more guns than Britain). The record of guns within the US is more patchy.
Both inner city blacks and Hispanics and rural Southern whites are more mysoginist on average than the rest of the population.
Misogynists might take offense at your spelling. :)
But you're still making the evidence suit your theory, not your theory fit the evidence. Sorry, but it starts looking like faith to me. Asian-Americans are also more misogynist but next you'll justify why they aren't criminal either...
It's all cyclical and interrelated.
(Although "metanarrative" is just as good a word without necessarily implying a religious meaning)
but blacks are overrepresented for the actual percentage of their population.
That's what I meant.
one, Middle Easterners take justice much more seriously and use crueler forms of punishment, which can be a deterrent;
So again, you are admitting other factors are at play. Until I point it out, then you argue that it really stems from misogyny too.
two, there is much less cultural diversity, causing far fewer misunderstandings.
I buy it for Japan and Korea; I don't buy it for any of the ethnic Chinese countries or even most of the Middle East (from the Western viewpoint, slanted eyes and Han writing drown out all differences; as does Islam, but remember that from their viewpoint people from any Anglo-Saxon or European country are also close to indistinguishable). Also, that should make the American rates much higher than they are, and the Canadian rates even higher than the American rates.
However, in the USA itself it is more problematic than sounds, because most crime committed by Blacks is on Black victims, and most crime by Hispanics is on Hispanic victims...
There are many reasons, some of which cut across all cultures and some of which do not.
Thank you.
