Ah! but crime and corruption are a rational response to conditions of material deprivation and inequality without opportunities for rising standards of living or upward class mobility.

I don't think Baldur would disagree (though I await for his response).

The point being, that not because we see rampant crime or violence should we assume irrationality. It may very well be the rational response to harsh conditions that cannot otherwise be corrected.
