Not 'sexualized,' but......
Posted by Dante on 2012-June-13 05:21:55 EDT, WednesdayWe are all sexual from well before birth. So you can't sexualize what is already sexual.
But along with the assumption that children aren't sexual ( or sexy, ) comes the corollary; that they are made sexy by resembling adults more. Every story assumes that Pedophiles respond to heavy makeup, padded bras &tc.
I've finally come up with an apt term to describe this misconception from our POV. Those kids aren't being "sexualized," they're being "adulterated."
Adulterate: [ verb ] To render something poorer in quality by adding another substance, typically an inferior one. :)
