Okay, I've heard that interpretation. But, what I am wondering is if the LG's had been accepted in trade, would God still have destroyed the cities?

Taking Lot's daughters was a bit unguestfriendly as well, so I'm guessing under that interpretation, Sodom and Gomorrah would still have been toast.

It's the offering of the daughters and their rejection and the obvious friendly (at least!!) relationship between the daughters and Lot and the sparing of their lives by God that interests me.

I know their offspring became leaders of tribes opposed to the Israelites but is that all there is to it? Save them so they could create enemy tribes?

Please don't misunderstand. I am not trying to argue, just have an understanding for myself. I value your knowledge on this stuff and respect you as also being a pedo far more than most of the other people I discuss this stuff with.
