Genesis 18 + 19

Yes, it is a very confusing story; even when taken for what is there.

It gets even more confusing if you add what isn't.

You added Pedophilia, even though it is not present in the story. You added LGs, even though Lot's unmarried ( but already engaged ) daughters are not described as such.

But then again, everyone loves to speculate, and most all add elements that are not present to further their speculation.

A few curiousities;

For all the later versions of Ghod which are not anthropomorphic; in Genesis 18, Ghod is one of three men who appear to Abraham. So much for His otherness.

Omniscience? What omniscience? Here Ghod is more prone to believe in and pass on a rumour than is Jape when he hears about a potential nude movie cutie. ( Sorry dude, couldn't resist. )

So Ghod hears the outcry of the ignorant rabble. But has even less knowledge of whether Sodom and Gomorrah sin that those who depend upon hearsay. ( I'm gonna call it hearsay, because if every male in town is an Angel-raper; then which of them is gonna condemn himself? The "outcry" must come from out-of-towners [ who seek lodging and expect their Angels to go unmolested. ] )

Further Ghod doesn't even know His own standards. "I'll spare them if you can find 50 righteous men. Do I hear 45? 40? 35? I hear a bid of 30 righteous men from the gentleman in the sackcloth robe. 25? 20? 15, 10! OK, I'll hold at 10, because reducing my standard 5 more would just be silly."

Now one has to wonder why Ghod visits Abraham for himself ( accompanied by two rapeable Angels ) in order to discuss the hearsay reports with someone who is every bit as ignorant as Himself. And yet, when it comes to the direct investigation, absents Himself and sends the Angels along alone.

( I suppose that Angelic hearsay is very reliable unto the Lord. Further, maybe his omniscience kicked in at last and he feared for his butt which looked [ when he appeared to Abraham ] indistinguishable from the tasty Angel *ss. )
