It doesn't.

Part of it does. A later appendage. But most who read it understood that it neither needed appending, nor viewed it as a summoning to Christ.

There are some even more recent appendages; including but not limited to, The Book of Mormon; which most who include the NT feel free to eschew.

Anywho, stealing and repurposing someone else's schoolbus into a hippie-camper-van doesn't prevent the majority from seeing and using a schoolbus as a schoolbus.

We can just as easily view Xtians as Jews who strayed and forgot the covenant, as we can view Jews as pre-Xtians who failed to arrive.

Either way, neither the OT nor the NT are internally consistent enough to warrant talking about what ( to reify them ) they say. But at least all involved can see that OT and NT are two separate things; and refer to them as such.
