Empowerment.

You are right. Whoever took on the role of "therapist" was an ageist anti-sex idiot who did great damage.

What she needed at the time was what most people need; to be supported and empowered.

Now its possible that what occurred at the time was consensual; and was only molestation in a culture where childhood and intergenerational sexuality are denied suppressed and punished.

And if it wasn't consensual; she needed support and empowerment to feel that her sexuality is hers alone to give or withhold. But again, our culture is pathologically against childhood sexual empowerment until the party turns 18; wherein they're expected to spontaneously feel in charge of what they've been told isn't theirs.

She needs sex-positive therapy; and needs someone who will allow her to own her experience as a child in hindsight.
