One more "paranoid" thought about paid encryption. If someone developed the program, there is always the chance that some developer put in some back-door code to let himself (or others) into your supposedly encrypted information. While this could also be true for Truecrypt, I suspect it is far less likely due to the way it is developed (collaborative effort amongst people who have a stated desire to help paranoid folks like us).
