In April 1997, 'TheSlurp', founder of the (now defunct) Pedophile Liberation Front (PLF) website, conceived of a "Pedo Pride Day", to be celebrated every 25th of April, the anniversary of the first time Charles L. Dodgson met Alice Liddell, in 1856.

He suggested that on that day we should all perform a small gesture of courage:

"You might tell one of your friends about your preferences, you may decide you'll buy that kids' fashion magazine, or you may decide it's the time to make a pass to that girl next door. Just do something you were afraid to do until yesterday."

Then in 1998, 'Aladdin Truelove' suggested (on Ianthe's mailing list) that we change the name to 'Alice Day', and others took the suggestion up, as being less 'dark'.
