Well, I know what my girls wanted. They said as much. And I never told them anything about how I felt for them - not because I didn't want, either, it just never was the right moment. And right at the same time there was yet another girl who was herself a lot more interested in me than me in her, and she too made those advances. They're less significant to me emotionally because I wasn't crushing on her, but scientifically speaking, she is even more relevant because I can be sure in her case that it wasn't apophenia from my part.

No, wealthy children should be steered clear of. They don't need us.

Right. Because material things buy happiness. That must be why underage suicides are highest in Sweden, Japan and South Korea rather than Haiti. That must be why American minors are the world's most drug-addicted rather than the Afghans and Burmese who have opium poppies at home. Oh, I agree that, oh, hunger, may be somewhat of a problem for a child, and that the child may be happier if their hunger is solved. Where I don't agree is that the need for love dissolves above any economic threshold. The clear and enormous correlation between national wealth and suicide rates proves otherwise.
