I sorta disagree

Actually, I do mostly agree, but I think events such as the Boston bombing force authorities to focus much more on more important things than pedos. I think there would be much more focus on pedophiles if there was nothing better for police to do. There will always be a hysteria, even if that hysteria becomes cracking down on stolen library books. But the higher crimes going on, the less attention being paid to lower crimes, even if certain crimes are just a bit lower on the scale.

But in many ways you're right. The more spying going on, the more easier it will be for governments to keep track of everything. The thing is they don't have enough prisons yet to arrest everyone who breaks a law. Who knows, maybe in the future prisons will fuel the economy, and it will be the most elite and rich persons who work at the prisons, keeping the majority of the population confined.

I'm certain all the databases the governments own have information on certain individuals committing very illegal actions, yet there just isn't enough manpower to bring all these people to "justice". They have something on everybody. The truth is they could probably do enough manipulating of facts to arrest and imprison just about anyone for some little slip. Most people stop sticking to the book at some point in their lives, if not often.

Funny that we call all this "Freedom".
