Being real with a preteen

Right. I have been thinking a lot about the burden and power stuff. I really want to speak in a way to avoid that.

She is a relative. Keeping it clear and simple is a challenge, I know. I think I can do it. The last thing I want is to scare her. I am confident that she knows me and loves me well enough NOT to be scared.

After all, it is not a big deal really. There is more to love than sex. This is only a part of our relationship and totally non threatening. I don't want to make it more than it is and if there can be a little humor in it, all the better.

A little nervous but the date has been set with her mom. Dress up date. I told her she can wear a dress. We'll have a nice dinner after the talk. I bet she is stunning when I pick her up and I'll probably be all tongue tied at first.
