I often wonder...

I wonder why she acts so shy around me when other adults are around. I wonder why she's sometimes reluctant to show affection. It's quite obvious to myself and many other observers that she does love me. She enjoys playing with me and has no problems being with me, but she's very reluctant to do anything affectionate with me, especially if there are other adults watching. Perhaps she doesn't want anyone to get the wrong idea? Perhaps she doesn't want anyone to get the correct idea? It's hard to know for sure. Some of the way she behaves, strongly suggests such feelings towards me, but some of the way she behaves leaves me questioning that assumption. I don't exactly know how to describe her behavior in a way to properly explain why it would make me question, but her behavior is just ambiguous enough that it could be seen as her hiding her true feelings, or ensuring that her true feelings aren't misunderstood.

I might try to talk to her about it sometime and see how she explains it in private with no other adults. She's much less shy with me when it's just us(or when she completely forgets there are other adults around, like when she had me lay in bed with her).
