Well, I think it's a great thing, that way I don't have as much to worry about if our friendship ever escalates beyond a mere close friendship between an adult and a child. I just would love to know her reasons for why she behaves the way she does.

When I think about it, even when we're alone, she doesn't usually do much that's blatantly affectionate, she's mostly just playfully affectionate, but on occasion she'll do some things that go beyond just being playful, but only if no one's around, or she's forgotten that there are other people around. She's not the overly affectionate type(though her cousin is and I love when that little girl snuggles up with me. My little girl will often mimic her affectionate behavior when she's around), but she does get very affectionate with those close to her. Maybe we just haven't gotten close enough for her to be that affectionate with me yet. I'm still going to ask her whenever I have a chance and see how she answers. That should tell me a lot.
