A Patrick Air Force Base chief scientist is being held on $250,000 bond after he was arrested and charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography.

David Francis O'Brien, 71, has held his position in the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC), which monitors foreign nuclear testing, since 1989.

He is the principal adviser to the AFTAC commander, according to his professional biography on the U.S. Air Force website.
