I was formerly a member of the Google support group. I don't recall any mental health professionals posting at the time or even having accounts there. It was a group of girl lovers and boy lovers having intelligent, reasonable discussion. I think the mental health professionals come in with regards to conferences and in referrals that B4U-ACT might make.

But it's not like they're running the organization or are pushing MAPS who volunteer with or communicate with B4U-ACT in any direction. It's simply a dialog they have which could potentially lead to something down the road. I imagine the gay community made similar inroads in the early days of their movement back when mental health professionals considered homosexuality to be a paraphilia just like pedophilia is considered to be today. Don't get so caught up in black/white thinking and judgments. This is very much a gray area which we are navigating here.
