I've been dealing with this for quite some time and found that people who are the closest to me don't hate me, they hate the concept of a "pedophile" that's been planted in their head by the powers that be. When the person who's in front of them, who's their son, their brother, their father, their friend, doesn't match that negative concept, they feel differently. They can sense that you're a good person and that you are not a rapist, a molester or a creep. We can't live openly and freely like gay people yet, but we can quietly and discreetly make out nice little lives for ourselves despite the great social stigma and ignorance and repression and persecution and everything else we must deal with. I know this because I am living it and others I know who are like me are living it. And you can too.
