Sorry, the whole thesis has already been successfully disproven. Entire cultures continued to successfully reproduce despite homosexual initiation as a primary cultural value.
Hint, the idea that sex and love are the same thing, or that reproduction is the outcome of a romantic attachment are purely modern parochial notions. And exclusivity of orientation to the exclusion of one's societal "duty" is also a modern notion. Whether a homosexual culture dominated or was closeted; queers have been reproducing without fertility issues for millennia. Now, maybe homosexual initiation may be predictive of a minority sexual orientation in cultures for whom this isn't the ONLY way to do things. But correlation does not imply causation. Gay bhoys will probably seek out gay sex. ( No duh. ) But having been the recipient of another's seeking might not be predictive of what you seek. Heck, there is a high correlation in a closeted culture of queers whose initiations were heterosexual. ( Enough so that the term for a lesbian who has never been with a guy is "gold-star dyke." ) But then you conclude at the end of your loooooong essay, that every bit of speculation prior was unwarranted. Very strange indeed. Dante |
